Rollapaluza edit. Birmingham heats.

May 17, 2011

It’s taken me an age to get my head around this movie lark and that coupled with a dying mac has had me in bits of late, but in between panic and a lot of hand gestures and shouting I managed to squeeze this quick edit out. I hope you like it, and especially my Birmingham peoples!

Shot during the Midlands Rollapaluza heats in Birmingham, April 2011.

At the end of the night Tom Gillespie won in fine style, beating his opponent Marcus by 3 seconds over 1000m.

Peep the results.

I cannot stress enough how good this film is!

Twenty-five minutes of great, well shot british cycling footage. The soundtrack is awful but I suppose it makes a nice change from dubstep or eurotrance. The narration is pretty good too.

Enjoy.

The Cannibal, Crushing.

November 25, 2010

A great bit of Cannibal footage. Now then, a question… Does anyone know where I can get/watch Eddy Merckx ‘in the vicinity of a cup of coffee’ from 73? I have only read of it and would love to peep it… so if you know, please get in touch!

Awesome. Makes a change watching classic footage in colour!
Thank you to LS for sending me the linky, you know me only too well.

Bit sparse on the posts of late friends, sorry about that. I have been pulling what’s left of my hair out at my day job… But I can now report that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

In the meantime, while I get myself back together, get your chops around this fantastic footage.

British Pathe.

I am terribly annoyed.

The big steaming dog poo that is WordPress has this morning prevented me from embedding a multitude of the most amazing and fantastic videos of British cycling history from a website that was previously unknown to me. British Pathe.

I would have loved to have shown you the movie of the 1951 Tour de Britain but no, it won’t let me, I would also have liked to post about a 1956 Dunlop T.V advertisement but alas Worpress says no so unfortunately friends you will all have to go see for yourself by going here.

If you like your movies black and white and you are partial to a spot of nostalgia then it really is a must!

Thanks LS of B’ham cyclist for the linky.
