Dream Team.

November 10, 2010

Our friend and artist Riccardo Guasco just sent us some samples of his latest work titled, “The Dream Team” of cyclists. Beautifully captured characters, and you have to love that mustache. See more of the illustrations here in Riccardo’ s gallery.

Via Elcyclista who also wrote the above words and yes, quite a magnificent moustache… just wait until I reveal mine. EEK!

Mike Giant x Cannondale x Bahati

March 16, 2010

This, a one off hand painted Cannondale super six, touched by the fair hands of one of the best illustrators/tattoo artists the earth has ever seen is in support of the Bahati foundation.

If you like the look of this and fancy bagging a remake then on April 23rd get yourself on Ebay and get bidding. Top bid wins and all of the proceeds go to the foundation.

Charity aside, this bike looks awesome, well done Sir Giant!

The Horton Collection.

December 4, 2009

These are just a few of my favourites but my Goodness! It’s all there… all the posters and graphic art surrounding cycling you ever wanted is right there at the Horton Collection.

Also check this and this one too. Unable to post due to the size but certainly well worth a look if you are into graphics and design.

Major Taylor interpreted.

November 25, 2009

Remember a few days back I posted a story about Major Taylor’s words of wisdom?

Well a chap named Chris Piascik has taken these words and translated them through the medium of illustration. He says “I’ve decided I am going to draw all of Major Taylor’s “Clean Living Guidelines.” When I finish I am going to make a zine out of it!” Nice.

Here you can see Chris’ interpretation of “Don’t be a big bluffer” and you can see more of this great series right here on Chris Piascik’s web spot.

Rebore.

rebore

Daniel Rebour was a French illustrator of the post war era. During the 1940s, 50s and 60s Rebour created precise line drawings for catalogues and magazines documenting the innovations, intricacies and curiosities of bicycles and their components. His exquisitely detailed and beautifully crafted illustrations show a love for the bicycle and its mechanical beauty and strike a fine balance between technical precision and artistic expression.

Perusing the web this morning led me to these illustrations done for a childrens book and what do I see beside them but a name: Simon Peplow. A mild mannered kid I went to Uni with and who is also something of an awesome skateboarder. So to you again Simon, infinite props, these are bad!
