Yes that’s right, I have work commitments out of the city so I have to go away for a few days. Fear not however as Spinwell will be back before the week is out with more of the goodness that you lot love so much.

Kris’s Hetchins

Kris was the first person I knew to be riding track bikes with “them funny fixed wheels” a long, long time ago, at the time I was fully involved in riding bikes with fatter tyres and at least 8 gears and I did not see the appeal…. at all. He clearly did and I guess it paid off as he managed to snag this fine Hetchins track bike for a good price off his pal way before the Ebay frenzy surrounding O.G steel track frames.

Eddy Merckx’s 1972 Hour Record bicycle, on display at Eddy Merckx metro station in Brussels.
Eddy Merckx set a record of 49.431km (30.715 mi) that stood for 12 years.
